The Ballad of Bloodthirst

Bequeathed our sire
The blood desire
His stinging venom
Hath no addendum
For each bite spreads
The thirst for bloodshed

From the hunter to the hunted

Ageless until ashes
By her flaming lashes
Nature beguiles our unchanging faces
Sculpted subsidiary of her chosen races
Her sky-stationed reaper harpoons
His sunlit spears corral us beneath the moon

From the hunter to the hunted

Speed, strength, and sorrow
We relentlessly borrow
First from our sire
Then by his blood desire
We sap life’s vigor from our prey
In shadowed ‘scapes and alleyways

From the hunter to the hunted

This cursed life compels
We damn to hell
The timestamped mortals we love and loathe
Fanged and shadow-clothed
We mirror the beauty of the night
Seduce others to share our plight

From the hunter to the hunted
Trademark of our sire
