“The Eternal Divide awaits…” (“Prophecy of the Victor Chosen,” Line 38.)

Patriarch Legendroe.

Before the Rest of Longing, Patriarch Legendroe penned a prophecy that foretold of a seemingly impossible end to the War of Eternal Divide. Hidden within the Hall of Knowing, his sovereign words lasted; untouched through much of his slumber, until a crystal chrysalis hatched above the Elferan homeland of Rone, unleashing a hellion that would devastate the Elferan Collective.

The hellion’s assault severed the bound from the unbound. Schisms among the Elvish Elemental Bonds abounded. An elemental rift tore the valorous offspring of Luendarth and Emythrene apart, and they, in kind, tore the prophecy asunder. For generations among the Pure Bloodline of the Light elves, and the Ever Taint of the Dark elves, the polarized war shaped Elvish societies, determined destinies, and ravaged the realms.

Like a fraying rope caught between the mouths of two unrelenting, alpha wolves, the balance of power shifted back and forth between kingdoms wrested by their prominent packs, who bore the emblems of the Crown of Alignment emblazoned upon their hearts. For each of their progenitors held onto but every other verse of Patriarch Legendroe’s “Prophecy of the Victor Chosen,” unaware that their armies marched under banners woven from the incomplete lyrics of a broken song.

Shall we unravel the scrolls?
